Beyond Graduation: ILC Alumni Gather to Reflect, Connect and Find Their Path Forward

Bringing together next-generation members of business-owning families - from students and recent graduates to professionals and entrepreneurs, the gathering invited participants to look beyond academic and career achievements and consider how they could use their opportunities, capabilities and resources meaningfully.

At its heart was a shared understanding: wealth and opportunity may be inherited, but judgement, character and responsibility must be developed. Family legacy encompasses not only financial capital, but also values, relationships, cultural heritage and a responsibility to contribute.

Through an interactive Kahoot! poll and apresentation, participants reflected on their strengths, aspirations and priorities across personal development, careers, leadership, business and investments. Alumni who had started their own businesses shared candid experiences of making decisions, overcoming challenges and finding their direction.

The conversations continued over a lunch buffet, giving participants time to reconnect and strengthen relationships within the ILC community.

The gathering marked the beginning of an ongoing alumni initiative centred on mentorship, shared learning and practical exposure across generations. It reflected ILC’s commitment to supporting its students beyond graduation as they navigate personal, professional and leadership decisions.

In a world shaped by AI, technological changeand economic uncertainty, independent thinking and sound judgement are increasingly important. Through this community, ILC aims to help the next generation develop the confidence, character and sense of stewardship to shape their own futures and their families’ legacies.

The event left participants with one central question:
“What will I do with the opportunities I have been given - and who do I want to become along the way?”
